  • Dear Dad

    Dear Dad

From Abraham, the father of many nations, to Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, Scripture emphasizes the importance of fatherhood. God calls men into this role to shape lives, instill truth and create legacy. As Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.” The role of a father begins not with power, but with purpose.

Fatherhood is an adventure. There are no maps or instruction manuals with guaranteed outcomes. God equips us with His Word, His Spirit and His grace. The adventure is not in knowing all the answers, but in walking closely with the One who does.

Perhaps the greatest challenge, and greatest joy, of fatherhood is learning how to reflect God’s heart to your children by getting to know it intimately through personal experience.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.”
    -1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Fatherhood is not just a role or a title, it’s an honor and a ministry. You are planting seeds of faith, character and strength in the hearts of your children that will grow for generations. You are part of a much bigger story.

This Father’s Day, we celebrate and honor the adventure 💙

10 Bible Verses To Honor & Encourage Fathers on Father’s Day:

    1. “The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.” -Proverbs 20:7
    → A father’s integrity leaves a legacy of blessing.

    2. “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.” -Psalm 103:13
    → A reminder of how a father’s love reflects God’s own heart.

    3. “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.” -Ephesians 6:4
→ A call for fathers to be gentle, wise and grounded in godly leadership.

    4. “My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” -Proverbs 3:11–12
→ A picture of loving correction as an act of delight.

    5. “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.” -Deuteronomy 6:6–7a
→ Encouragement for fathers to lead their homes spiritually.

    6. “Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” -Colossians 3:21
→ A charge to fathers to uplift and not burden their children.

    7. “But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” -Joshua 24:15b
→ A father’s declaration of spiritual leadership in the home.

    8. “Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.” -Proverbs 4:1–2
→ Highlights the wisdom and instruction passed down from fathers.

    9. “Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?” -Hebrews 12:7
→ Reinforces the importance of loving discipline.

    10. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” -3 John 1:4
→ Captures the heart of a father whose children live in faith.

  • The Unexpected King

    The Unexpected King

He’s not the king we expected.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the crowds were full of expectation. They waved palm branches in adoration and shouted, “Hosanna!”, welcoming what they thought was a political Savior, a king who would overthrow Roman oppression and restore Israel’s power. But Jesus had something far greater in mind.

“See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey.” –Zechariah 9:9

    They expected a throne.
    He carried a cross.

    They looked for horses.
He rode in on a donkey.

    They anticipated military victory.
    He brought eternal salvation.

God’s plan often doesn’t align with our human understanding or expectations. Jesus wasn’t crowned with gold and jewels but with thorns. His path to glory wasn’t through conquest but through sacrifice. He didn’t come to take lives but to lay down His own.

And in that upside-down Kingdom, we find our King. One who understands suffering, who willingly entered into our pain and who conquered death, not by force but by love.

2,000 years later, we still wrestle with our own expectations of God. We wrestle with God inside our personal circumstances–the tension between trusting what God has promised and the reality of what things currently appear to be.

Jesus shows up in ways we don’t anticipate but desperately need.

We pray for quick solutions, and He offers deep transformation.
We want comfort, and He gives us character.
We ask for escape, and He gives us endurance.
We crave microwave-minute blessings, and He’s after eternal purpose.

As followers of Jesus, this isn’t just a holiday we celebrate once a year; it’s the foundation we build our lives upon.

Even when it seems like all is lost, God is still working.
Even when it seems like the end of the story, God is still able.
Even when the tomb is sealed, Sunday is coming.

When your circumstances don’t look like you expected, when God’s answers seem delayed or different than you hoped, remember this: Jesus didn’t meet the world’s expectations in any way, shape or form, but He far exceeded its need. And He still does.

Choose to trust the King who knows better than we do.

He’s not the king we expected.
But He’s exactly the King we need.

    Happy Easter, indeed 💙

  • Faith Over Fear

    Faith Over Fear

    Do you struggle with fear?
    We all do.

Fear paralyzes you–it sabotages your vision, robs your purpose, disables your passion, kills your hope, keeps you from stepping into God’s plan for your life and steals your peace.

Faith and fear cannot coexist; one must overpower the other. God calls us to replace our fear with faith and to fully trust in His perfect plan, presence and purpose.

The question is, which one are you feeding?
Let’s confront some of the lies fear tells us 👇

    💙 Lie: “You’re all alone.”
💙 Truth: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
    Hebrews 13:5b

💙 Lie: “You’ll never be enough.”
💙 Truth: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
    Philippians 4:13

💙 Lie: “You’re too weak to overcome this.”
💙 Truth: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
    2 Corinthians 12:9a

💙 Lie: “God has forgotten about you.”
💙 Truth: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”
    Isaiah 49:16a

💙 Lie: “Things will never get better.”
💙 Truth: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
    Jeremiah 29:11

💙 Lie: “You’re too sinful for God to love you.”
💙 Truth: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
    Romans 5:8

💙 Lie: “You’ll never conquer your fears.”
💙 Truth: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
    2 Timothy 1:7

As believers, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
So, what are you being led by? What (or Who) is your compass?

To combat fear, we must actively choose faith. Like a muscle, it must be built and strengthened. Choose faith over fear, and believe God’s truth as the final say over your life. As you do, you’ll experience His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

What are some fears you need to surrender to God today? 💙

  • What Im Thankful For In 2024

What Im Thankful For In 2024

As we gather around our tables this Thanksgiving, let’s emphasize not just the theme of Thanksgiving but the heart posture of it. Let’s be intentional about making space to reflect on the goodness of God and all that He has done in our lives this year. In a world that’s chaotic, rushed and never satisfied, gratitude recenters our hearts on what truly matters. This is what takes our eyes off the gift and places them on the Giver.

As we enjoy food, fellowship and festivities, let’s remember that Thanksgiving is not just a holiday but the way we should live our lives. Let’s cultivate a heart of gratitude and carry it into every day of the year. The Bible says to pray with thanksgiving, as if thanksgiving is one of the main ingredients in a very important recipe–the recipe of prayer that changes us, changes others and is pleasing to God 🙏

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” -Philippians 4:6

Whether it’s family, friends or the local church, the relationships in our lives are evidence of God’s fingerprints in our lives. Hebrews 10:24-25 says to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together … but encouraging one another.” How can you walk this out in your own life? How can you reflect this in your community? Who can you encourage this holiday season? Encouragement can go a lot farther than you may think.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 challenges us to “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” This means, in every circumstance, situation and season, there is always a reason to give thanks–perhaps it’s the strength you’ve discovered through trials or the way God has drawn you closer to Him. God has a way of using the broken things in our stories for our good and His glory. Gratitude helps us remember who He is and gives us hope for all that He has yet to do.

As you end 2024, let gratitude be the thread that ties your heart to God and to those around you. As you celebrate Thanksgiving, may you overflow with thankfulness, knowing that every good gift truly does come from God Himself.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” -James 1:17

  • Bible Study Tips Fall Edition

    Bible Study Tips Fall Edition

Want practical tips for studying the Bible & incorporating Jesus into your busy, everyday life? I’ve got you 🫶

    8 tips👇🍁🍂

    🤎 1. HAVE A PLAN.
Plan to show up, and pick a time of day that you will commit to.
Find a Bible reading plan, and stick to it!

    🤎 2. PICK A PLACE.
Pick a place where you want to meet with God. It can be a prayer closet, a patio or a porch. It can be a library, a coffee shop, a park bench or even the driver’s seat of your car. Picking a place will help you be consistent and help make this a habit. Bonus points if you get to incorporate seeing the leaves changing and the smell of crisp fall air 😍

🤎 3. SAY PEACE TO PERFECTION.
Perfection is a trap. Progress > perfection. Give yourself grace if you mess up, but don’t quit! Something is better than nothing. Choose to embrace the journey, instead of being so obsessed with the destination.

    🤎 4. MAKE PRAYER A PRIORITY.
Write down Scriptures pertaining to what you’re going through right now, and write them on notecards. Place them around your home/car/workspace, and watch how they become more familiar to you.

🤎 5. GET REAL WITH GOD.
Seasons change, and so do relationships, circumstances, emotions, plans, etc. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that there is a time for everything. Let’s embrace that. Lean into the seasons changing outside and in your own life, invite God into the mess of it.

🤎 6. MAKE IT AESTHETIC/SOMETHING YOU LOOK FORWARD TO.
I don’t know about you, but I loveeee a good aesthetic. I know it isn’t the most important thing, but it really helps to create something you enjoy and look forward to. So whether that be a pretty Bible, a new journal, Bible highlighters, your favorite pens, a fresh worship playlist, lighting a candle, etc. – be intentional. Make your time with Jesus something you look forward to.

    🤎 7. USE TOOLS/APPS.
Flip through translations, use apps to help you dive deeper and understand the Scriptures and context! Some of my favorites apps are the Bible app by YouVersion, the Blue Letter Bible and Enduring Word. Bible translations I flip between are NIV, NLT, AMPC, ESV & TPT.

    🤎 8. INVOLVE FRIENDS + COMMUNITY.
Accountability is everything! Grow closer to God with other people, and watch your life flourish. Join a Bible study group at your local church, or if you have a long distance bestie, start a Bible reading plan together, and set a time to talk about it every week. (I live in AZ, and one of my BFFs lives in GA–we have a three hour time difference and still make this work! 10/10 recommend.) If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” –Proverbs 27:17

I’m so proud of you for choosing to make Jesus a priority. Remember: progress > perfection. Embrace God’s grace & run your race. Fall in love with God’s Word, and let Him meet you exactly where you’re at.

What Bible study tips would you add??

  • What Does The Bible Say About Gods Children

What Does The Bible Say About Gods Children

    CHILDREN, FAMILY & LEGACY.

Building a godly family and leaving a legacy that glorifies Jesus may feel like an uphill battle, especially in the world we live in today. However, whether it’s your own children, through adoption or a spiritual family in community, God’s heart is always FOR family. Family and building a godly legacy are the most meaningful and rewarding pursuits that God entrusts us with as believers.

A godly family isn’t merely about living together under one roof or attending church services; it’s about creating a home rooted in faith, love and intentional discipleship. Through this journey, we leave a lasting legacy that to future generations.

Building a godly family begins with laying a solid foundation in Christ. Psalm 127:1 says, “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” Faith must be the bedrock of the home, where every action, decision and relationship flows from a deep-rooted trust in God.

In honor of our latest addition, Elevated Faith Kids, we wanted to highlight the importance of building the right foundation at home and emphasize God’s heart for family. Souls are the only thing we can take with us, and legacy is what we leave behind!

Here is what the Bible has to say about God’s children:

John 1:12-13 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

Matthew 18:3-5 “And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

Philippians 2:14-16a “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.”

Galatians 4:6-7 “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”

Psalm 127:3Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.”

Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.”

Mark 10:15 “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Romans 8:15-16 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Proverbs 29:17 “Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.”

Proverbs 17:6 “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.”

Ephesians 6:4 “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

1 John 3:1a “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

In the Bible, God tells us that children are a blessing and a gift. Jesus actually tells us to be like children and to come to Him full of faith and trust! What does being God’s child, family and building a godly legacy mean to you?
